Když vyjížděli záchranáři k domu Chestera Benningtona poté, co jim jeden ze zaměstnanců, kteří se o dům starali zavolal, že našel zpěváka oběšeného s pomocí pásku na dveřích, mysleli si, že se jedná jen o další HOAX. Už v minulosti se totiž šířilo velké množství podobných hoaxů, které informovaly právě o smrti tohoto skvělého zpěváka.
Ještě po hodině si tak fanoušci nebyli jisti, zda je to pravda, a spekulovali (a hlavně doufali), že ne. První fotky policie a záchranářů ale přinesl server tmz.com a zpráva o dobrovolném odchodu frontmana Linkin Park se bohužel potvrdila...
HOAX
Linkin Park vydali v ten samý den - jen pouhé dvě hodiny předtím, než bylo nalezeno Chesterovo tělo - videoklip k songu „Talking To Myself“ z alba One More Light:
K nečekané smrti zpěváka, který měl s kapelou začít příští týden turné, se na sociálních sítích vyjádřila spousta celebrit i jeho šokovaných přátel. Budeš nám chybět, Chestere! Odpočívej v pokoji!
